Howard joined Architype in 1998 bringing a valuable approach of ‘every detail matters’. He is an expert in design detailing; timber frame and alternative construction methods including earth and straw-bale.
He was the project architect for our Hereford office, Twyford Barn, a RIBA Sustainability Award winning barn conversion, which sets the precedent of the practice’s design quality and ethos. He has significantly contributed to many of Architype’s milestone projects including Swansea Student Accommodation, The Genesis Project, and peer-recognised St. Luke’s Primary School. More recently Howard has been involved in Architype’s Passivhaus school projects and a number of residential developments.
Howard trained at both Newcastle and Cambridge University. He has undertaken a course in sustainable land use and permaculture at Worcester College of Agriculture.
