Karl joined Architype in 2017, with previous experience of designing MVHR systems for Passivhaus buildings. He is particularly interested in low impact, natural materials and has practiced expertise in simulating building physics to predict building behaviour.
Karl is currently assigned to the Architype team detailing construction design for a large scale residential Passivhaus project in London.
Karl has recently completed a Masters in Sustainable Architectural Studies at the University of Sheffield, where he wrote a dissertation on the collection and analysis of data from heat loss in older buildings. Karl completed his bachelors degree in Architectural Technology at the University of Huddersfield.
In 2017, Karl won a national student competition set by the Passivhaus Trust, where he designed a Passivhaus mountain hostel.
