Kathryn has worked at Architype since 2009, on wide range of projects across both the London and Hereford offices. She has also worked in the United States.
In particular, Kathryn has worked on many education projects including Passivhaus primary school, Oak Meadow, as well as the complex refurbishment and extension of Robert Fitzroy Academy. She is currently working on the designs for a new secondary school for the London Borough of Sutton.
She has specific expertise in designing for Special Education Needs and was instrumental in the design of Sherwood Hill SEN school- a new secondary school for students with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and Challenging behavior.
Kathryn recently returned to Architype following a year long break in the US, where she had the opportunity to work hands-on with a special project which used natural construction techniques including timber framing, straw bale building and earthen and lime plasters.
Kathryn studied at the Welsh School of Architecture at Cardiff University gaining a BSc(Hons), BArch and M Arch in Architectural Studies. Her thesis project and dissertation focused upon designing for Special Education Needs.
