Aoife joined Architype in October 2022, bringing experience on a variety of educational, civic and residential projects.

Since joining Architype, Aoife has been working on University of Exeter student accommodation, with a focus on the deep retrofit of an existing student accommodation block. She has a particular interest in inclusive design that champions both environmental and social sustainability.

Education

Aoife completed both her undergraduate and masters degrees at the University of Sheffield, graduating from the March course with distinction in 2022. Her joint thesis project focused on the fight for the decriminilisation of sex work and the creation of a workers’ union in Sheffield. Through consultation with sex worker led organisations, the project explored the co-creation of safe and inclusive spaces within the city. During her studies, Aoife was an active member of a student-led climate action group, campaigning for a greater emphasis on sustainability in architectural education.
