Deborah is a Part II Architectural Assistant who joined Architype’s Edinburgh studio in 2021.
At Architype, Deborah has worked on two ongoing Passivhaus high school projects in the wider Edinburgh area. Deborah has always had a keen passion for the environment, and with her masters’ degree focussed on architectural responsibility to climate change. This continues to influences her design approach.
Deborah undertook both her undergraduate and postgraduate study at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Her dissertation addressing the reuse of church buildings was Robert Gordon University’s entry to the 2020 RIBA Dissertation Medal. Her final year thesis investigated ‘life through longevity’ looking at the importance of reuse within the built environment from a social and environmental perspective.
Deborah gained her Part I experience in Edinburgh, working on both residential and a high-end commercial adaptive reuse for a conservation-driven and award-winning practice.
