Architectural Technologist & Passivhaus Designer

Martin is an architectural technologist, Part II architectural assistant and Certified Passivhaus Designer with over 15 years’ experience in practice.
He is passionate about the natural world, people and equality and believes that good design has a positive impact on people’s lives. His interest in design, coupled with an expert technical background and understanding of construction and building physics, allows him to take on various roles across a diverse range of projects.
Martin joined Architype in early 2020 after working for various practices in the UK and Spain. At Architype, he has worked on Newtown community venue, Maybury primary school and a feasibility study for Hereford Museum and Art Gallery.
He has recently returned to the Centre for Alternative Technology as a tutor on the MArch in Sustainable Architecture course.
Martin graduated in architectural technology from Leeds Metropolitan University with a first class honours degree and the Chetwoods Award for Academic Achievement. Returning to study architecture at Leeds he graduated with a first class honours degree in 2009. Martin completed his Masters in Sustainable Architecture at the Centre for Alternative Technology in 2019, gaining a distinction. He is currently studying for his Part III qualification with RIBA to complete his studies in architecture.
