Paul has over 20 years experience as a qualified architect and joined Architype’s Edinburgh studio in 2021.
Prior to this he worked in design-led architectural practices in London, Oxford and Leeds.
Paul has considerable residential experience across all project scales from individual dwellings to dense urban housing schemes involving architectural collaboration on major urban regeneration schemes. This experience means he is passionate about creating well-designed homes that improve people’s lives and well-being and make a positive impact on their wider community.
Much of his residential experience has been on complex mixed-use projects, predominantly in historic or complex urban settings. A notable example is the award-winning regeneration of the Princesshay area of Exeter city centre.
His project experience also includes education, retail, masterplanning and cultural developments. Paul is highly skilled in managing complex projects with large client or stakeholder groups.
Paul is passionate about good design and has a keen interest in achieving a rigorous, consistent design approach across all aspects and scales of a project.
His Architype work covers secondary school projects in Scotland including Currie Community High School in Edinburgh.
Paul qualified as an architect in 2000. He studied for his Diploma in Architecture at Oxford Brookes University. Prior to this he obtained his degree at Huddersfield University where he spent much of his final year studying in Amman, Jordan.
