Rory joined the Architype team in 2020 and is an ARB registered architect with a passion for thoughtful, technically well-executed, environmentally responsive buildings that don’t cost the earth.

He is a motivated and diligent architect with technical expertise and knowledge that has been developed in the design and construction of a number of large award-winning buildings in the south of England.

Rory has worked on the design and delivery of a wide range of projects both in the UK and abroad, demonstrating both tenacity and design skill.

In addition to a number of large secondary schools and a primary school, his completed projects include a private student residence in Hackney, a student housing campus for the University of Washington, a feasibility project for the London School of Economics and several live-aboard yachts.

His design skills are balanced with practical experience in consultant coordination, subcontractor design management, BIM development and construction management.

Rory is senior architect for two Passivhaus school projects with Architype – North Muirton primary school in Scotland and Mulberry Academy London Dock school in Tower Hamlets.

Education

Rory gained his BA (Hons) and Dip Arch at Sheffield University in 2001 and 2005, before completing his Part 3 studies at London Metropolitan University.
