Isis Reid
Part 2 Architectural Assistant
MArch Sustainable Architecture
Isis joined Architype in 2021 after working primarily on residential and conservation work for a practice in Suffolk.
She is personally interested in cultural expression in architecture from people of mixed backgrounds like her own, and her final project for her MArch was the British Institute for Intercultural Identity in Elephant and Castle, repurposing the condemned shopping centre for the community. She loves patterns and colours in design, natural materials and believes that everyone has a right to affordable, comfortable and inspiring spaces.
She won a scholarship to study at the Mahindra United World College in India, where she made connections around the world and from this has worked in a variety of countries from a beekeeper in Maine to a cheesemaker in Chile. She is now working towards her Part 3 Qualification at the University of the West of England.
She is currently renovating a derelict cottage, designing and building a new timber frame extension.
